Mini Remote Controlled Robots

Zibits Small PicMy son loves robots (even at one point saying he wanted to be a robot when he grew up) and he also loves playing with cars, trains, and other little toys.  While Zibits, the new mini remote controlled robots are billed as for ages 8+, my little guy is still absolutely obsessed with his!

Zibits Mini R/C Robots are little – only about two inches tall.  They come with a small remote control that moves the little robot forward or in a circle.  It’s super-easy for my son to use, and he really loves it.  My daughter, who’s five also loves playing with it!

Zibits come in several different styles, including the one pictured.  They are great little Easter basket presents.  To learn more, visit the Zibits Web site.

Beautiful children’s art at giggle

This beautiful museum-quality of art is perfect for a child’s room or even a den or family room. It’s called Jellybean Tree and it’s one of several pieces by the late artist Gale Kaseguma, who created the “Kidmodern” line of children’s art and who tragically passed away in her 30s of colon cancer.

giggle is donating 20% of Kidmodern sales to a charity of Gale’s husband’s choice.

Celtic Woman: Songs from the Heart

While I had heard of Celtic Woman, I hadn’t ever actually heard their music (and for the longest time, I thought it was Celtic Women).  Music Moms, a subgroup of Team Mom, sent me a copy of their latest CD, Songs from the Heart for review.

Songs from the Heart includes such traditional standards as Amazing Grace and O, America as well as more contemporary covers, such as You’ll Be in My Heart (from Tarzan).  The music is soothing and relaxing – the type of music I’d expect to hear when getting a massage or facial.  I actually really enjoyed it even more than I expected, and I will plan to listen to this CD when I’m trying to get relaxed – like when taking a bath or resting.

To purchase, visit Amazon.com. Celtic Woman: Songs from the Heart

Disclosure: I received this CD from Team Mom, and the Amazon link is an affiliate link.

Day One: Mom 2.0

xtra xtra is your place to share memories. It’s day one here at the Mom 2.0 Summit, and I’ve already attended some fabulous sessions.

First, a big thank you to my conference sponsor, XtraXtra.com.  If you aren’t already familiar with them, Xtra Xtra is a Web site where you can share your personal milestones, such as engagements, marriages, births, and accomplishments!  You can add photos, link to Facebook, and post your milestones!

Last night, the event started out with a Mad Men inspired party – everyone really got into the spirit and the outfits were absolutely amazing.  It was the perfect way to start.

This morning, the keynote featured Gretchen Rubin (from the Happiness Project) and Heloise.  One of the key points I took away is the importance of getting enough sleep, and de-cluttering.  While I feel that I get enough sleep, I seriously need to de-clutter.

I also have attended two breakout sessions, and conducted an interview with Mattel’s Dr. Michael Shore.  I’ll post that interview when I return.

Disclosure: Xtra Xtra provided me with a partial sponsorship to the Mom 2.0 Summit.
